  Advanced and Junior Strings

Junior and Advanced Strings are the Strings classes are for students learning violin, viola, cello and bass. Junior strings is for Grade 6 students who have had one year of instruction on their instrument (Grade 5 strings) or are brand new to the instrument. Advanced Strings are for students who have more experience on their instruments, usually Grade 7 & 8 students, but also Grade 6 students with more years of instruction.

Junior Strings will need their instrument, as well as a copy of Strictly Strings book One. Their first class will be on Friday, September 15th in Block 4.

Advanced Strings will need their instrument, as well as a copy of Strictly Strings book Two. Their first class will be Monday, September 11th in Block 3.

If it's possible to have their instruments for the class after these first classes, that would be great. If not, as soon as possible.

  Jazz Band

Jazz Band is open to all students who are in Grade 7 & 8 Band. To participate in Jazz Band, you must be a member of Grade 7 or 8 Band. In this ensemble we get to play a wide range of music, and include instruments like drum kit, piano and electric guitar and bass. Students are welcome to play a different instrument than the one they play in Band class.

Jazz Band classes will begin on Thursday, September 14th.

  Choir

Choir is open to all students in the school. You don't need any prior music or choir instruction to be in the class, and we welcome all grade levels to join!

Our first Choir class will be on Wednesday, September 20th at Lunch Recess.

We can be flexible with the after school rehearsal, and move it to a day that works best for the most students in the class. We'll decide this together at our first meeting.
